What Google verifies
For an organization account, Google confirms your legal business name, address, website, and a contact phone number. Since March 2024, organizations must also upload a D-U-N-S number, the same one used for Apple.
Identity verification runs on a person as well: the account owner provides a government ID and a selfie. This is a one-time check.
Signing up
Go to play.google.com/console/signup and choose Organization. Enter your business details exactly as they appear on your trade license and D-U-N-S record.
Pay the $25 USD one-time registration fee. Unlike Apple, it doesn't renew.
Complete identity verification for yourself as the account owner. Google typically clears this within 1-2 business days.
Payments profile (required before publishing)
Before you can publish a paid app or accept in-app purchases, Google requires a Merchant Account linked to a bank. For a loyalty app with no paid downloads and no in-app purchases, this is not strictly required, but set it up anyway if you ever plan to gate premium features behind a purchase.
For most Habitu deployments, skip this until you have a business reason to charge guests directly.

Once your Play Console is active, go to Users and permissions → Invite new users and add the email we provide during onboarding with Release manager + Store listing editor rights. We'll handle the publish and release process end-to-end.
